Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan says, “Today, on Civil Service Day, I felt I should share that the principle of Advaita Vedanta teaches that when there is no ‘other’, one should have love for everyone. The indirect expression of this love is service. When we love, we naturally serve. When this thought settles in the mind, there is immense joy in working, because one is not doing a job but serving. And this service is for our own people. Among them, farmers are the most important in India. It is a very large section, as we all know. I will not go into data or achievements today, but it is certain that during the Middle East crisis, if we are most assured, it is because our food stocks are sufficient, and there is no shortage of wheat and rice.”
